Studies predict that by 2021, 80% of all internet traffic will be video. If you have yet to incorporate videos into your marketing strategy, now is the time to make it happen.

Why Video Marketing?

While there are a multitude of facts to support why video marketing is a crucial strategy (and i’ll get to those), it’s pretty simple and straightforward to understand. Typically, videos perform better and provide more engagement than any other type of content on social media. It’s a new, innovative, and versatile method to get your message across. You can use video marketing to promote a wide variety of products in various ways, and that’s the beauty behind it.

Types of Videos

Like I state before, video is versatile. From educational demonstrations, to guest interviews, to product reviews, and so much more, the possibilities behind what your brand can do within this style of marketing is truly endless. Not only is it an effective method to promote your brand, it’s effective at educating and engaging with your audience as well.

The Facts

So, what proof do I have behind why videos are crucial to a marketing strategy? Well, here’s a few of my personal favorites.

  • 90% of consumers claim that videos help them when it comes to making a purchase.
  • 81% of businesses are utilizing video marketing in some capacity.
  • Approximately 75 million people in the US watch videos online daily.
  • Almost half of all video is watched via a mobile device.
  • You’re over 50xs more likely to show up high on Google’s search results if you have video embedded on your website.

Tips

Now that you know the importance you may be wondering, how can you do it right? Timing is everything, especially when it comes to videos. Be sure you optimize your time depending on platform. For instance, videos on Instagram perform the best when they are approximately 30 seconds long, while videos on Facebook perform the best when they last approximately a minute. Watch your timing and make sure your message fits appropriately. In addition to timing, make sure your videos are mobile friendly. As stated above, over half of the population watches video via their phones, so you want to be sure to make that accessible. Lastly, practice good SEO standards and be sure to check your metrics. Keep your videos organized and track how they do over over time to understand which style is best for you.

Conclusion

Video marketing is just one of the tools that holds the key to digital marketing success. How can you use it to help your brand? What ideas do YOU have on your own to share with others?
