An ad with little to no engagement is far less likely to be shown than an ad with positive engagement. You can check your level of engagement by looking into your advertisement in Ads Manager. There, you will see quality ranking, engagement rate ranking, and conversion rate ranking. Ideally, you’d like all of these to read above average. If you notice below average ranking, it’s time to make some changes!

Try switching up the creative, the targeting, or simply turn that ad off. Focus on what IS working and roll with it!

Restrictive Bids and/or Budgets

Facebook’s algorithm determines what ads are seen versus which one’s are not seen. To help not limit yourself, make sure your bids and/or budgets are not too restrictive.

Unless you have an unreal product (and even then), you’ll need to throw in some money in order to see results. Don’t expect to have a high reach with an extremely low budget. No amount of targeting or creative can make up for that!

Do what you can to be reasonable with your investment. By no means are we telling you to the break the bank. However, sometimes, you need to spend money to make money! Remember this when you catch yourself being too frugal.

You Accidentally Turned Off Your Ad

This one may seem self explanatory, but it happens more often that you may believe.

It’s easy to toggle your ads on and off so do your due diligence to check the status of your advertisements often. You don’t need to watch these like a hawk, but you do need to check in every now and again. Anytime you make an edit to your ad, be sure you check it’s status before exiting.
